I usually buy the Sainsbury's Basics Crunchy Peanut Butter because of its low carb (3.9g per 100g).

This morning popped in to Sainsbury's and decided to buy another. Still 65p, still on the bottom shelf, size of 340g same, but the label is more 'orange' than white, although it still says Sainsbury's basics, Crunchy Peanut Butter.

BUT the carbs have increased to 10.6g per 100g! I hope they will refund me! I already have an Asda one, bought by mistake, with similar values as this new one.

I usually have just a teaspoon in the evenings if my calories and fats are too low, but I don't want to increase my carbs. The typical values are now the same as Asda and I think, Tesco. I guess they have changed the recipe. Will have to start searching. We have a Morrison's about ten miles away and I wonder if they do a low carb version? Waitrose certainly don't.

How heavy is a teaspoonful? Even if you only got 6 teaspoonfuls, but I would guess nearer 20 or 30, that's less than 1g of carbs on your fat top up.

Could be a misprint on the label. Nairn have just admitted a print error on their oatcakes displaying 1g per biscuit when it should have been 6g ( I think) per biscuit.

Email Tesco's and find out :)

My heaped teaspoon holds 15g. so no it's not too bad. It's just that I noticed somewhere on the forum , someone had it spread quite thickly on to a couple of crispbreads, much more than my one teaspoon. Will not return it, was joking. Am trying to lose 10lbs and because of my age and height the maximum number of calories for me is around 1600 per day and with me eating 1200/1250 calories, I should lose 1lb every 9/10 days, which isn't always the case! I try and keep to the ratio of 15% carbs, 20% protein. and 65% fat. Don't always reach my fat total or even carb total so it's ok for me.
Just thought I would mention it, in case anyone is very strict with their carb counting.
