I like Pepsi max, as a newly diagnosed type 2 diabetic I am trying to work out a food regime that works for me as well as my diabetes.
My wife has always had an issue with me drinking Pepsi max, to be fair I drink 1-2 litres a day but I don't like water, don't drink beer or coffee.
Even though there is no sugar in it she is concerned about the sweeteners in Pepsi max, does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Hi PaladinKnight and welcome to the forums. I am guessing at your hobbies right now.

People report different things about the impact of sweetners. Personally they seem to have absolutely no impact on me - I'm not that fond of Pepsi Max, but do drink Coke Zero. You can establish if there's any impact on your blood sugars by fingerprick testing.

There's a separate question about other non-diabetes health impacts - personally, I'm not convinced - but that's a matter for you.

Finally, some people want to break the "sweetness thing" and stop the craving. Again, that doesn't apply to me but you might want to think about that as well.

best of luck. It might help people respond to you if you added some info - such as what your BG was on diagnosis, testing pattern, other foods etc.
