So I've just fount out that what I'm experiencing is peripheral neuropathy .

I'm gutted I'm 29 and had diabetes for 22 years . I'm also worrying really worrying.
Really panicked I don't know what to do with myself, I also have a littlen .
My legs and feet are numb and cold and tingle when they are touched

My skins also sensitive in areas , any advice for this what works best ect

Anyone else had it in their younger years ?

Any advice on how to manage this

Hi @Bunnie06 and welcome to the forums.

My (albeit limited) understanding on this is that improved diabetic control may help. Have you got any scope for tightening your control?

Lots of virtual hugs.

i have been using R-ALA 150 mg 2x a day for 2 years it has stayed much the same.no numbness

How has your control been those 22 years.
Some of us who experienced it had it slowly resolve with better BG control.

Yes I working on tightening my control .
It had been brilliant up until 5 years ago when I had some personal things go on in life. Now I need to get back on top of things .
Latest hba1c was 73 , so it's a starting point to work on getting lower .

They had been really good up untill the past 5 years when I had personal life issues . Now time to get back on track latest hba1c was 73 so my starting point to improve

All I can tell you is it first kicked in for me once I resolved my BG, seems counter intuitive but apparently it's been studied.

Mine took about 12 months to resolve once I kept my BG in range

I don't know how to chill with this I'm really panicking I can't feel my legs or feet they are literally numb . How does everyone manage this physically not feeling your legs ????

Just wondered who had diagnosed you as having peripheral neuropathy, and did they offer you any help in the way of medication, or advice to help you manage this? Lyrica or Gabapentin help some people, it might be worth asking if you can be started on this. Sending hugs, and hope you can get some relief soon.
