I attend a heart rehab exercise class at the local hospital gym. As the husband of a heart patient.
The exercises are intended to restore & maintain mobility, rather than a vigorous workout. I only drink water during the sessions.
As it is common knowledge that exercise reduces blood glucose, I measured it before, during & at the end. The first reading was about 2½ hours after our main meal.
Before 16:25 - 6.2
During 17:21 - 5.3
End 17:58 - 4.4
10 days later, there wasn't a class (snow) so we played table tennis, including 3 vigorous games against a much younger man.
Before 16:22 - 7.3
After 18:50 - 9.1
2½ hours after evening meal 21:49 - 5.7
Looks as if gentle exercise reduces blood glucose, but vigorous exercise causes glucose generation from fat reserves.
