My bloods are 22.9 and my ketones are 0.1 but I feel like I'm slowly going into DKA. I've no flu like symptoms so I know I'm not just getting sick, can someone please help?

-worried

If your ketones are 0.1 you can't get DKA because there's no ketones to turn acidic. Take a correct, calm yourself down and have a big glass of water, you're just panicking yourself x

I've given a correction and just drank about a liter of water and still feel the same way
And yes you're right, it's impossible to go into DKA with .1 but it's the only way I can explain this feeling

Oh have they! I'm running low today haha! That's why I'm up now! Don't know about you but if I have an off day and I'm running a little high then get a big one like that I get an awful headache and terrible nausea. Just a warning off your body x

Gotta love diabetes..
Mhm that makes sense, it's just never happened before haha ah sure it's 4am I may as well just stay awake till I'm better

If you don't love it, you'll absolutely hate it! Hopefully mines sorted now, crisps at 3am are never good! X

I've never heard truer words
Hope it is too, lows at that time are dreadful haha

A few weeks ago my ketones were 2.2 and that was scary especially as a newly diagonsed. I was being sick every hour for most of the morning/early afternoon.

Hope you both got some sleep and sugars are normalising:)

Are your blood sugars better now? Must have an underlying illness I would guess. Hope you feel better soon.

It's only come down to 16.1 haha
But I'm feeling a little better than last night ️ thanks!

Correct, test, monitor and water is the best. With levels at 20+ you can expect it to take up to 10 hours to bring back to normal levels. If it was in 2 hrs then undoubtedly you would end up hypo.
I've been up to 30 when my sets have failed on my pump but to be honest have never tested for ketones in these scenarios but only because I know the cause and correct properly.
If the cause was due to an illness then it would be different but in 30 years I have never had to test for ketones due to illness...

If you can see levels dropping that is good and I hope you can identify the cause which is important too as you need to avoid where possible, this happening in the future...

Please let us know how you get on

I'm not trying to persuade anyone but i've been maintaining my blood sugar well I assume its probably around 30 mmol/l which when my next blood test will show that my next hba1c would show as 21% and thats a 7% increase which is still high. Many factors come into play such as depression, anxiety, motivation and lack of future because you hear it in the news that depression gets worse the longer you are unemployed and get rejected by jobs, you lose the will to live and that is the case for me.

Strange though that I have tested for ketones and have never got a trace of them. Been about a year or more even that I been keeping the sugars high.
