Has anyone noticed having high bg's after having their injections? I have tested this afternoon before lunch and I was 17.2! Eeek. Had my injections yesterday morning and it was the first time I have tested since.

I attended the docs this morning to receive the Flu Jab.
Was also offered the Pneumonia Jab; I thought for a second and then agreed to have both. Fine so far. No problems with the previous 3 Flu Jabs either.

No never noticed a rise in bg levels at all, I would look elsewhere as I cant see how a flu jab could raise your bg levels unless you were harbouring some sort of cold or infection when/before you had it.

Ive had them every year now for 9 years and never had any problems at all.

I saw a slight rise after my flu jab this time.

IIRC, I had a bigger problem last year - which was my first one, but only from about 5.5 to 8.9 over a couple of days.

Ok, this is a first for me after Jab. Got the flu and pneumonia jab yesterday at 9am. By 7pm last night I was feeling dreadful. Got up from sitting position and felt faint so had to sit down, immediately.
Went to bed early at 9.30pm and was in and out of sweats all night, shivering, broken sleep, painful arm and shoulder. Got up at 4.50am for a glass of water; listened to the birds in the garden. In the office this morning and apart from feeling tired I am back to normal.
2hr bloods last night were 5 % points higher and fasting this morning was 3 % points higher.

This is why I don't have it.
The flu jab used to make my grandmother feel 'off colour' and 'virusy' for about 6 weeks.
The same happens to my sister.
I've never had it, and won't.

BUT I would happily risk thos symptoms for a one-off pneumonia jab. Just not an annual flu jab of very questionable effectiveness.

Making me think twice! My symptoms were awful; can't imagine how i would function on a daily basis if the symptoms continued for a week or more.

It may have been worse because you had both jabs done on the same day.

My vet refuses to give the dogs more than one jab per visit for fear of not being able to identify the allergen if the beastie should have a reaction. (which is quite common, I understand, and why we are asked to sit in the vets waiting room for a few mins after the appt, in case the reaction kicks in)

Ironic that NHS staff fill us with as varied a cocktail of jabs as possible at a single visit, isn't it?

The difference is of course money.
I pay for the vet's time, and additional appts.
The NHS don't have that luxury.
(getting off my soapbox now ;) )

Ive never had a problem with flu jab have had it for passed 22 years, I did get hospital acquired pneumonia couple of years ago and wouldn't wish it on anyone, also had flu once as well and that was horrid.

An old lady once said to me flu is like love, lots of people think they have it until they get the real thing

Not had any reaction with the flu jab.

The year I had the pneumonia jab I felt a bit ropey for a couple of days as my bg was a little higher than I like it to be. I had it separately from the flu jab. I can't say for sure if it was the jab that caused it though - the doctor's surgery waiting room was full of sick people who may have given me their germs o_O

3.5 hours since my 26g carb vegetarian lunch; BG sitting at 10%. Not good. Hope things return to normal ASAP.

LOL - they see you coming - do you pay for a double visit?

My right arm is still sore (Flu jab side) and my bloods are still far too high

lol

It is really only new puppies that need more than one jab at a time, and they need more than one appt for different things, spread over a few weeks, so we spread the jabs out too, one jab/innoculation per visit.

Sorry your arm is still sore. :(

I had pneumonia in March, in fact I think that's when I got type 2, but here in North Cyprus they wont even give that jab, which is really worrying, because I don't want to go there again!
