Poem "I am not a Diabetic"

I'm in denial that diabetes doesn't suck,
I tell everyone it doesn't hurt much.

I avoid my reflection of the obese lass,
Hoping one day the effects of sugar won't last.

Type1, type2 whichever the label,
It all depends on what you are able.

So when your embarissed about the D,
Think of those who are in the closet and forget 'we'.
How lonely they must be!

When you’re first told you’re diabetic,

Your first response will be emetic.

But do not be apologetic --

It can assault the born athletic

And the always energetic.

Its roots may often be genetic.

If others seem unsympathetic

Or offer frightening words prophetic

Of a future life prosthetic

(and confectionary diuretic),

Just seize upon a new aesthetic

(LCHF – if alphabetic)

And make your days more peripatetic.

And if your life seems too ascetic

Make your diabetes poetic.

(like this)

Wow, you creative lot! @desidiabulum that poem was genius!

Here's my silly effort (I can only write limericks - sorry!)

In Bristol, a lone mum named 'Fiddler
Lived alone in her house with her tiddler
But for both her and Euan
Diabetes was brewin'
See those carbs? They all up and diddled-her

a daft little ode based on an internet meme

Good day to all
my name is gee,
my doc hath spake
'Type 2' to me.
Low Carb, good fats!
My friends here sed
so I no longer
Lik the Bred.
This sounds weirdly like William Blake, 'Infant Joy' or one of those poems- maybe you're an undiscovered genius!
