Ignorance, apathy and Cretinopathy (a term coined by lowcarbdibetic.co.uk) which is a common diabetes related condition where people who should know better (Healthcare professionals and Diabetes charities) advise diabetics to consume high carbohydrate/sugar food.
Hi All

I have type 1 and i'm following a ketogenic diet to improve glycaemic control. I generally don't go over 30g of carbs a day. Now i'm wondering, if I wake up in hypo and have to take 10g of fast acting glucose to treat it, should I then count that 10g as part of my daily carb intake? I'm not really that bothered if I go 10g or so over my limit, I was just curious. :)

Hi carb Foods
Live with it IMHO.
If you go hypo, it;s due to too much insulin but the !0g carbs are merely compensation for the insulin. Slipping out of Ketosis is no big compared to the probs of hypos. hopefully you can balance things better next time.
(It's about optimising your health, not a competition< Oh-ho taking carbs >> points off!)
Good luck in the future!
