Worth bearing in mind that portion size makes a huge difference.
Did you weigh out the porridge oats, or measure them out with a scoop that means you will get the same amount each time you make porridge?
I am terrible at carb creeping. I know I can eat chocolate (70% dark stuff), and I love it, but I have tested (rigorously!!!

) and I know that 2 squares of Lindt 70% doesn't raise my bg at all. 4 squares gives me a rise I view as acceptable for a treat. 6 squares gives me a disproportionate rise that I avoid.
So in your place I would get myself a 'standard' portion size that works for you and your blood glucose, and then stick to it. Could be an egg cup, a teacup or a pint glass - it will be what works
for you.
And then test occasionally to check that it is
still working.
