No Gudrun I am not on any medication just diet but I going to see the diabetic nurse after a blood test.then I expect she will tell me that I will need to take medication.Eijack, 9.7 before eating is a bit high, I think. Are you on medication? Are you type 2?
Check out what is written in the forum on low carb eating. I have had huge success with lowing my blood sugar levels by cutting out bread, potatoes, rice and pasta (and obviously biscuits, chocolate, etc.).

Fat is you friend apparently. I was struggling to keep my weight steady without my BG going high. I increased my fat intake slightly and was able to maintain it. Now I can get on with losing the next 4 stone.Well the problem Is that I can't afford to lose much more weight, I am 5.8, weigh 10.3, I feel fit and healthy, diet only type 2, If I give up much more I will have to run around when I take a shower to get wet! Do you think I would be better to take a tablet thus enabling me to maintain my weight?
