LADA
ive recently had quite a few tests, due to feeling tired, eye sight problems, higher than normal blood sugars when poorly, and gp tested urine and had ketones, so he reffered me to consulant. anyway the tests shows im positive to insulin antibodies consulant said my body to attacking the cells which produce my insulin, sees it as a foreign body. ive now got to have a monitor fillted to belly to monitor my sugars over 7 days day and night, but also my hba1c has dropped, quite a bit since last test and it was it the grey area for diabeties but hes now said it could be a false low, because of the low suagrs as well cancelling out when its higher. all a lot to take it will keep you posted .

Hi Debs and welcome to the forum.

It sound like your doctors are on top of this, so I wish you well with your results and shout if we can offer any support ;)

Hi. I can only assume from what you say that you are a Late onset T1 (LADA) but as it can come on at widely varying speeds you may be in the early stages. Sounds like you may have large swings currently as the consultant suggests. Are you keeping the carbs down to help reduce blood sugar and the swings? As it settles the HBa1C will be a good guide to your treatment and this may be done every 3 months to start with.

Not been really watching what I have eaten only when I'm poorly as that's when I feel lousy so check sugar levels but will be more careful with carbs
