Possible to change Forum skin?

Unfortunately.....No, at least not at the moment.

We will pass on your comment to the Support Team for their attention.

You can turn off style and colour chosen on a web page in most browsers, I am using Firefox and if you go to TOOLS/OPTIONS/CONTENT/COLOURS you can then take the tick out of the box that says "Allow pages to choose their own colours instead of my selections above" and you will get a default screen that looks like:

screen%20cap.jpg

On this screen you can pick your own text and background colours :D

The black/blue on white actually looks a bit boring to me. :|

Hi Sid.
Don't seem to have any options like that on IE8. Is it specific to Firefox ?

There are certainly no built in options here as the Red/White are DCUK Corporate colours I think. Anyway, I like Red, prefer Blue, but hate Yellow and Green.

No idea if there could be any user choices till we get an answer back from Admin.

Just looked in Internet Explorer 8 and found this:

To override website font and color settings
Click to open Internet Explorer.

Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.

Click the General tab, and then click Accessibility.

Select the Ignore colors specified on webpages, Ignore font styles specified on webpages, and Ignore font sizes specified on webpages check boxes, and then click OK, and then click OK again.

I know, I'm good aren't I?

Sid.

Erm.......I would like to say you are good Sid :D .......but all that does is make the body of the page black and white. I think the OP has a problem with the actual banner heading etc which is in Red and is STILL in Red despite your instructions. I give up......

No you cant change the colour of the Diabetes.co.uk banner as it is an image, you can probably turn off displaying of images but then you would be left with a very boring black on white page

Sorry Stu, nothing more I can suggest

How do you know all these things Sid? :?

I dont really know Nigel, just years of playing around on the internet and tinkering with PC's I suppose.

I did a couple of web design courses back in 2000 and learned a lot about browsers then, of course things have changed a bit but basics are the same. Once I learned that I could fiddle about and not cause any real damage I just started going deeper into menu's to see what they did.

The only bad experience I had was with my first IMB 468 compatible computer using DOS, pre Windows 95 and I managed to wipe the hard drive by Formating the C: drive  but I do try to learn from my mistakes :D

That's my trouble Sid, I'm always worried that I'll crash the computer or lose important files. My eldest lad is very good with IT and he helps me out when things go horribly wrong!

I still google anything Im unsure of, when I get the message "Are You Sure You Want To Do This?" If I am not 99.9% sure I get on google and most of the time I get the info I am looking for.

My son deleted a couple of games last week along with some important video files in the registry and ended up with the dreaded black screen of death  so I had to load the recovery console and copy 5 registry files then delete the originals then copy the same registry files from an earlier date and then change their names and copy them back to the registry.

Luckily it all work so it saved me having to re install windows which is a proper pain, but I couldnt have done it without google giving me a tutorial showing the way :D

I have no idea how I survived before computers and google, watched a video today on how to drill through ceramic tiles so my mission for next week is to put up a towel rail in our bathroom, I'll probably still crack at least one tile but at least I know the correct way to do it and what drill bits to use now

I too have been watching DIY videos mainly on Youtube, managed to change my own radiator in the bathroom, picked up some good tips on laying laminate flooring and even managed to fixed the washing machine!

Computers do make life a lot easier....... :D

And how many of us would have good bg control if it weren't for this forum, thanks to the internet :D
