Hi,
I am a diet controlled T2, hba1c 45 but
I occasionally have periods of post prandial hypoglycemia and I've just had a bad week!

I suspect in my case it is related to Conn's syndrome but it would be nice to hear if others have pphypos and learned to cope with them/prevented.
regards
Derek

Hi @lindisfel
Welcome Derek,
I have reactive hypoglycaemia!
I have suffered post prandial hypoglycaemia.
If you would like to read the RH link below, there are others in similar situations.

The last hypo I had was whilst having a OGTT.
I very low carb, so I don't hypo!

Hi Nosher,
Thank you for your post, I realize now what you is spot on. It will be necessary forms to
cut down drastically on carbs and keep my one hour post prandial well down to stop too much insulin being produced so that I am not hypo at 2 hour p.pran!
best wishes
Derek

Hi Derek,
Thanks for that, I have had this for a while now and with advice from others, have gained the knowledge to control my blood glucose levels, there is a wealth of knowledge and information on this website, so if you need to ask questions, then please do ask, as I don't want you to suffer like I did in hypo hell!

If your interested in my fight to get diagnosis, then I have a blog.
The first is called 'a reactionary' .
Go to the blog forum by clicking on the blog button at the top of this page and enter 'a reactionary' in the search button, it should come up.

Let us know how you are doing!

Best wishes

Hi Nosher,
I have drastically cut down on bread and potatoes and I'm already getting lower +1hr glucose readings and I've not had any hypos the last few days.
regards
Derek
PS. May wisdom preserve me from carbohydrate creep!

Hi @lindisfel

So glad to have helped!

Hope you have trudged through the thread and understood what needs to be done.

There is also a thread going for RH ers called 'Quick survey for reactive hypoglycaemia'
Maybe @Brunneria can give you the link.

Hi Nosher and Brunneria,
Thank you for your response I shall look the thread up because I really want to crack this problem. The doctor thinks I am well controlled at a steady hba1c of 45!
Obviously this is not so with my BS dropping so fast after being high after +1hr.
For example, I found a bowl of porridge in the morning was pushing me up to c.12 1hr PP, whereas at +2hrs (walking round shops) I started feeling rotten due to an hypo and was having to take glucose tablets.

Yes porridge will do that to you!
Thanks to Brun to get that link for you.
Be wary of taking glucose tablets as that will give you the yo yo effect of fluctuating blood glucose levels. Going hyper then hypo!
I have a cuppa, black no sugar, and a plain biscuit to raise your levels up slowly. Then have a low carb meal shortly after, if you feel up to it!
You will have to find different breakfast meals, something like an omelette or bacon, eggs, tomatoes or if in a hurry, full fat yoghurt with berries.
