Hi I'm Dawn female and 53. Last week my doctor diagnosed me as Prediabetic my count being 44 and suggesting I need to change my lifestyle. My concern is my job. I stay in hotels 3 nights pw. Whilst I realise when I'm at home I can sort my diet and exercise I feel I may struggle with hotel food. I drive a fair number of hours per day feeling very tired when i finish work therefore limiting my ability to exercise. Are there any suggestions? Thanks
I've also recently had blood tests that put me in the prediabetic range. I've. been adapting my diet the last few weeks and eating out can be a nightmare although I'm starting to learn little things! It depends where you stay and whether you must eat in the hotel you stay (expenses etc?...maybe work would pay for you to eat elsewhere if you explain?). So far when I've been out I've opted for chicken/fish dishes with veg/salad...ask for veg/salad instead of chips etc. Best and healthiest meal I've had since changing how I'm eating and I wouldn't have thought it was in Wetherspoons and they tend to be in most places now but again depends whereabouts you're staying...I had chicken bacon and avocado salad minus the balsamic dressing....it was really nice and filling.
