Hi everyone. I am a T1D and currently 23weeks pregnant. I'm on novo rapid and insulatard regime. My predinner BG is always high range 7-9mmol/L. Normally my pre lunch is 5.4 and my 2hour post lunch is 5.4mmol/L. Tried to increase my lunch dose but instead I go hypos after 2hour post lunch for 3consecutive days. what should I do?

I'm on a pump so I could adjust my basal.

You could try taking the slightly increased lunchtime insulin then have a small snack to stop the hypo. You'd have to test lits to make sure you were ok and eat in time. Or you could try some more activity in the afternoon. Even a little walk can help.

What are you eating for lunch? Could it be something particularly high in fat or protein? If so, that migh be causing a delayed post prandial spike at some point after your two hour test. You could tackle that by splitting your bolus for lunch - I.e adding on another bolus shot just before the delayed rise happens. You'd need to do some testing to figure out when/if the delayed rise is happening and how much of a bolus you need to deal with it - it might only be a tiny amount.

If you don't think it's lunch causing the rise, it might be your basal dose might need looking at to catch up with pregnancy hormones.
