Hello everybody! I am early on in my second pregnancy (7 weeks)! So, I had a dinner with quite a few carbs in it because my blood sugar was very low and I have been nauseous. Carbs are the only thing that doesn't make me want to vomit, of course. I bolused for the dinner using my pump and then tested my blood sugar and hour after eating to see what it was. My sugar was 214, so I corrected it and test again 30 minutes later. Of course, it was higher and that was when I realized my pump was unplugged!

I'm not even sure how that happened or how long it had been. So now I have to play the waiting game because I'm not sure if I just missed my later correction or didn't cover any of my dinner. I gave myself enough to bring it down plus 4 units, thinking I did miss dinner. It's very frustrating and confusing. I know it's going to be a long night of correcting too.

Sorry for the long post, I just needed to vent. Plus, I feel a little guilty for not noticed it sooner and now having to be high for the night.

Don't beat yourself up over it-I am type 2 and just using injections and not pregnant but everyone makes mistakes. There is actually an area called scream where you can vent for as long and loud as you need to. (Or here if you need to.) Hold steady-you will get through it.:cat:

You're doing the right thing in waiting @LindsayOz

What I often do in those circumstances is correct with a pen so I know the correction is 'on board'.

How are your sugars today?

And congratulations on your pregnancy!

My pump has came off a few times in the night....

feel like death in the morning, thats if I get that far before waking......

temp basals on max for most of the morning to get it back down....

I was able to control it so it didn't go over 211. I stayed around that number for a few hours, but set an alarm and corrected every hour and was able to get my sugars normal again at about midnight. They have been around 100 ever since, luckily. Thank you for all the replies and congratulations!

This is Baby #2. Baby #1 is almost 2 now! I've been Type 1 since I was 2 (28 years now)! Just want everybody to know it's definitely possible, just a lot of hard work with watching your sugars and changing your basals for sure!
