couple of months ago I had a mild heart attack treated with an angioplasty . I was then prescribed 2 anti clotting tablets and a statin . Since starting on this regime plus 2 blood pressure tabs my blood sugars have been erratic . Normally I'm within the T2 range but have gone up several points . Anyone else with this experience ?

Hi rayles, sorry to hear of your heart attack, I hope you’re recovering well. Your blood sugar levels could be a couple of things that I can think of. The stress and recovery from your heart attack could account for it. However I think more likely are the drugs you have been put on. Statins especially are well known for messing with blood sugars. I’m not suggesting you stop any meds without consulting your dr but it’s worth looking at and discussing with your GP.

thanks for that .My DN is very keen on statins . I stopped taking Simvastatin some years ago because of unpleasant side effects but the Cardiologist treating me says that Atorvastatin is a big improvement .So far I've had none of the previous side effects just the erratic BGs
