I have noticed a lot of people on here saying they suffer from bad constipation my problem is I suffer from bad diahrea most days

Are you taking metformin?

That rules out metformin tummy then. Other health issues?

What kind of thing are you eating?
Since I found out I was pre diabetic I've not been eating much as I kind of list my appetite but today I had bacon eggs and sausage chicken with salad and a few chips and brown bread and reduced sugar jam

I would check the reduced sugar jam as some members don't agree with artificial sweetners.

Also as you have lost your appetite, could it be stress related?

@Tazbo artificial sweeteners don’t agree with me! If you’re not used to them you can get gas or worse. Or, you know, maybe you “ate something”, or you have a stomach bug?
Hope you figure this out soon!

Another vote for artificial sweeteners. They killed off my gutbacteria this summer, and while I fixed that (no more sweetener in my tea or anywhere else, save for stevia or erythritol, and those sparingly, plus taking gut bacteria supplements), my gut is still healing, as intestines are slow to heal... Still in pain, still having bleeds, though slowly getting better, a half year down the line. I thought sweeteners were my sweet tooth's holy grail, but I guess not! Try going without for a few days, (and they're everywhere, from jam to sugar free pop to gum to... You get the idea) add gut bacteria supplements, see how you get on. If that doesn't fix things in a matter of days, try magnesium, or adding extra fibres. (Psyllium husk etc). Make sure you drink loads!!! You don't want to get dehydrated.

Hope you feel better soon!

Thanks

I would advise getting a check up. Chronic diarrhoea could be a number of things, not necessarily related to your prediabetes or your diet.

You really should get it checked out by your doctor as it does not seem to be food or diabetes causing it

I actually did have IBS symptoms at diagnosis. That's one of the reasons I booked in with my Dr. That together with permanent heartburn. I was diagnosed t2d. Went low carb and both symptoms disappeared. Practically over night. I'm not saying yours is related to your pre diabetes, just that mine appears to have been so thought I would share this.

Reduced sugar jam. Check the label, these jams often contain SORBITOL, used as a sweetner and causes many people to suffer from upset stomachs etc
