Prolonged Fasting

I was diagnosed T2 in 2001 I'm on metformin 500 x 2 x 3 daily. I am 56 married and a student. My grant money has run out. I will not have access to money until the banks open on Monday next week. The food for me runs out tomorrow.

I will be therefore refraining from eating anything from Wednesday afternoon until Monday afternoon.

I would like to know how fasting for 5 days will affect me if at all.

Not a good idea to fast for that length of time. There must be alternatives.

My wife was due to sign on today (she gets no JSA just Pension Credit) but it would mean an 11 mile walk there and back. At 59 and a bit frail I couldn't ask he to do that. I called the Jobcentre and asked for help they told me they couldn't do anything for us. I explained I had no money until Monday and that I was Diabetic and was told well your wife will have to come in tomorrow or sign off. Perhaps I should contact that fat family with diabetes in the North West, they seem to be doing OK on their money which is twice what I'm on and I have to travel to uni every day.
