i am seeing a prostate spelialist soon
can some one tell is the examation painful
will i get a pain injection
how long does it take
probably a biopsy

Hi Henry,. I had prostate cancer discovered 14 years. The biopsy is uncomfortable it involves multiple samples being taken through the wall of the rectum with small needles. From this they both stage the cancer and find out how aggressive it is. I had a stg 3 bilateral carcinoma and was treated by hormone therapy (palliative) and radical radiotherapy. Please PM me if you want to know more. It sounds as if you are at an early point, I hope you don't have cancer and are worrying unnecessarily. Non of the process is pleasant so cross your bridges when you get to them. Derek

i do not have any rectum pain
no prob having stool
had a pros check last week
the doc said it was normal
but still reffered me to specialist
