@ickihun - my Psoriasis flares up when I am not well and Stress, Anxiety has an impact on it. Which then my Diabetes go's haywire - not good as they both have an impact on each other.
Had a course of Steroids 2 weeks ago that increased blood sugars and now yesterday I just started a course of Antibiotics for the next 7 days as I have an "infection" and several lumps in my armpit and groin.:(
Moisturizer Cream to stop the skin from becoming too dry.
I am due to start in July yet another Biological Drug for my Psoriasis - this will be my 5th in the last 10 years.
(This is how my skin is at the moment)

Ouch! Oh @Liam1955. Does it go completely, on occasions?
Definitely nerve responsive then. I wonder if pregabalin is any use for psoriasis? Little one got immediate relief from antibiotics for scarlet fever.
Will your antibiotics make it settle, a little til new drug routine?

@ickihun
My Psoriasis has it's own "Personality" !!!!!
Tramadol or Pregabalin can cause flare ups as can other drugs, Antibiotics have no effect on it. My Blood Sugars usually go up when having a flare up
Hopefully this next Biological Drug injection that I start soon will clear it? When I am in between treatment (like now for last 2 months) it erupts and each time it gets worse.

Hi, recently diagnosed with type 2 & dealing with psoriasis for over 30 years. With diabetes under control, is there hope to see psoriasis disappear? any connection between the 2? thanks
Psoriasis is an autoimmune condition, I’ve had it for over 45 years. Antibodies feed on gluten which causes the psoriasis, so cutting down on gluten will make a difference. Is it connected to diabetes? Well that depends on if your diabetes is autoimmune also, I understand there is a type of diabetes that looks like type 2 but is actually type 1, I read a white paper on it not long ago, they classed it as type 1.5 on the paper.

I know this is a bit of an old thread but this photo could be me for the last 4 months. (Dx T2 7 months). I’ve been told it’s guttae psoriasis. Never had anything like it before and it followed a not too serious throat infection. Awaiting on dermatology appointment. Steroid and Vit D creams do little to help. Moisturisers whilst making the skin less dry don’t actually do much for the rash either. Anyone tried anything else worth asking about at the appointment when it’s finally arrives? Hard to know if it’s affecting blood sugars as the two came about so close together, other than since the rash came the sugars haven’t dropped any further despite weight loss, diet and IF.

Hi @HSSS - I have had Psoriasis since 18 years of age, although it was just small "patches" on my elbows and knees. When diagnosed with Type 2 in 2000 it wasn't long before the Psoriasis began to show more patches, and I have had several really bad widespread "flare ups" since.
I have Guttate, Plague and Inverse Psoriasis and attend a Skin Clinic ran by Specialist Nurses every 3 months and see Dermatologist every 6 months.

Never had it previously or since or but got a fairly severe outbreak on my lower limbs temporarily after getting my T2 under control. Lasted about two months. Looked like it would scar but thankfully completely cleared up :)

In my case there was definitely a link.

I can’t find anything to suggest a link and considering I was probably undiagnosed for some time and prediabetic for a decade I doubt it should the diabetes directly. I was wondering if it’s something to with low carb / keto or just the drastic changes in bgl/insulin/weight etc that occurred at this time or sheer coincidence? It’s been 4 months for me now, worse on legs than elsewhere, having initially been told this form usually clears in a couple of months often to never reoccur.

Have either of you tried going gluten-free for a period of time?

I saw an Endo a year or so ago and one of his recommendations to me was to adopt a gluten-free lifestyle, on the basis that people with AI conditions usually did very well on it.

Now, in the midst of multiple AI issues, on both side of my family, RA, Hyperthyroid eye disease, Fibrosing Alveolitis, and others - and that's just my parents, he reckons it's a miracle I haven't developed anything,........... yet. He tested me for everything from that little lot to Coeliac, Lupus, General Connective Disorders and more. He lost his bet with me that I'd have something.

Anyway, I did go gluten-free, and I feel very well on it, and it transpires I am quite intolerant of it, although being LC I had already cut out most of the "biggies".

It's not a particularly easy diet to adopt, for total exclusion, but in your shoes, I might be tempted to give it a go.

If you do decide to give it a go, you need to commit to it for at least a couple of months, as it takes that sort of time for the body to be totally free of any impacts of gluten

When I started, I joined and read lots of this website. Therer are lots, and lots of experienced gluten-free folks there, for a variety of reasons: https://healthunlocked.com/glutenfreeguerrillas

Good luck with it all. My one small patch of exzema, in the crease of my elbow drives me bananas sometimes, so you have my sympathy - big style.

I haven’t, mainly because earlier this year before diabetic diagnosis I was tested for cealiac and was totally clear. That and being low carb/keto I wouldn’t think there was much gluten left in my diet. If it doesn’t clear soon I might have to reconsider but for now I’m finding my current woe challenging enough.

I’m trying to rock my leopard spots with style and am very grateful it’s winter not summer!

You can be clear of antibodies, but still gluten intollerant.

I thought going GF would be a stroll in the park as a LCer of some years' standing, but it's way more complex than just not eating bread or cereals. If you decide to give it a whirls there are several on here who would be happy to help you out.
