Hi all,

My consultant agreed at the beginning of the year that I was a suitable candidate for a pump! Does anybody have any experience of the time scales and the process in Northampton?

Hi,

I don't have any experience of Northampton and my own clinic experience was unique due to government funding, but I believe your consultant needs to actually make an application for the pump funding.

Just saying you tick all the boxes doesn't mean the consultant has got the ball rolling, I would find out what stage its at as it might not have even started yet.

Hi

The consultant. Has sent the paperwork to the ccg to request funding and I have received a copy.
 
excellent, so you are just simply waiting for fund to become available, or you may likely be in a queue........
 
it doesnt take as long as i thought it could - paperwork sent around the middle of Aug and then october I found out I could have it - another month until set up and pumping! Goodluck! are you under NGH?

Yes I am under NGH. It all happened quite quickly I asked about a pump on the consultant was quite happy to put me forward
 
Missed a call from one of the DSNs yesterday, she left message asking me to call back to discuss the pump. Hopefully this is good news just have to try and keep calm until Monday :)
 
I'm assuming that the call will be about discussing options as I haven't had any conversations around pump types yet :)
