Pump purchase?

Hello,
I am new on this site and I have one question.
I read a review of MINIMED 640G, here is link http://www.diabetes.co.uk/diabetic-products/pumps/medtronic-minimed-640g.html
and I am interested in purchasing Minimed 640G MMT-1512 180 units dim: 85 x 53 x 24 mm. Because I am small and thin I would need the model with smaller reservior.

Is it already on sale in the UK?
Who can I contact?

If in Uk you should be able to get one on NHS. Self funding for pumps is not the best or easy option.
 
It all depends on ypur CCG funding in UK and for you meeting the criteria. Yes, they are available.

Hospitals can sometimes offer only a few different pumps.. So worth checking your hospital. This is mainly down to ensuring that the nurses are trained in the pumps that they supply...

A GP cannot give a pump. You must also meet the criteria set by NICE guidelines.

You may also have to attend a carb counting course first.

Then you may also have to wait in a queue (so to speak). Some hospirals are really quick at giving pumps - some drag their heels.

On monday I will go to my hospital my doctor to find out.
I just wanted to know if mmt 1512, 180 units is on sale because I dont need bigger version.
I have to replace my old Paradigm pump and this minimed640g looks modern:happy: to me.
Thanks again for advices I will get myself in line:).

If you are due a replacement pump then there should be no problem in having the pump you want :)

... Just to let you know there's almost no difference whatsoever in size between the 180 unit 640g and the 300 unit one... I didn't need anything like the 300 unit reservoir so was going to wait til they got the 180 unit one in stock (I got my pump in June and they said the smaller unit one wouldn't be in the UK til later this year) -- but then my rep showed me the size difference and it was so teeny tiny minimal I decided it wasn't worth the wait... It's really just a fraction (like mm's) shorter in height -- and width depth etc the same... Just letting you know in case your hospital has the 300 unit in stock but not the 180 :)

I have heard that 180 unit reservoir is harder to get in UK and on some EU markets MMT-1512 (180 units dim: 85 x 53 x 24 mm) is not even available. But I have only seen Minimed640g on internet photos and the MMt 1512 looks more appealing to me:).
I will see what I will get:)
