Thanks for the information. The HbA1c of 51 and the FBG of 7 show you as diabetic. It is only the FBG of 6.1 that goes against this. When I was diagnosed my HbA1c was 53 and my FBG was 7. So not too dissimilar to yours. I put it down to the fact the test was on 2nd January so would have taken a holiday, Christmas, my birthday, and New Year excesses into account. I was wrong! My next test 2 months later my HbA1c was 52, so there was no getting away from it. I am diabetic.

I hope your next set of tests show an improvement for you. :)

@LadyLovely/ When I was diagnosed my glucose was 18.6mmol/L and my HbA1c was 10.4! It was a real shock as I was a biochemist so knew what that meant. Your glucose of 7 is a little high if it was a fasting sample but isn't bad so cutting carbs, particularly sugary food and drinks, might work for you without too much pain; sadly it doesn't work for me.

Hi there,

You say that the low carb method doesn't work for you? I#m interested in your experience of it nor working for you? It worked for me, my figures were almost the same as yours at the beginning and have come down to normal ranges within about four months - what sort of progress have you made by diet?
