Good morning, I'd like to ask your advice, sorry for my ignorance! I have no diagnosis of diabetes. Can diabetes present in a vague collection of symptoms or are there certain symptoms that must be there and be experienced quite significantly to cause any concern?
For many years I have experienced random lightheaded spells (which can also drain my energy). Recently this has happened a few times where it has been more pronounced and I've needed to hold onto something/sit down. Occasionally I will get random bursts of adrenaline, like a feeling of butterflies in the stomach. A few weeks ago I experienced rapid heart beat not long after eating some brownies that were very high in sugar (not making them again!).
Looking at lists of some of the more 'minor' symptoms of diabetes, I have also experienced for about a year or so bleeding gums, strange taste in the back of my mouth, and dry itchy skin.
I eat regular meals, some sugary snacks though. I am a healthy weight, in my 30s, no apparent risk factors.
Am I being a hypochondriac here or is there any point in me speaking to my GP?
Many thanks
