Well this was weird . I woke up early and had a headache and felt a little feel like I was going to be sick which I thought was due to low blood sugar but it wasn’t since I tested. And my blood was fine 5.6. Then went to have breakfast and water. But when I went back up I threw up after I threw up, I went back to sleep for an hour and now the headaches pretty much gone and feel back to normal? Don’t know if this is anything related to diabeties or my dentist hygienist appointment or if i caught anything from animals at my volunteering or could of just been the milk was off but thing is or can stress cause you to throw up?
I was supposed to meet my friends today, I feel like I want to but then I don’t want to throw up again in town or on the bus or whilst cycling and everything’s already been booked and paid for and I don’t want to let them down. Although that feeling has gone. Also when I threw up it was most of my breakfast so wouldn’t this mean my insulin amount was too much since food came out and therefor wouldn’t it make s risk of having a hypo?

What should I do and does anyone know why this happened.

Illness and stress both make your blood sugar go up, so vomiting wouldn't necessarily make you go hypo. But when you're ill, for whatever reason, you need to keep testing.

I can't comment on your day's plans but will stick my neck out and say vomiting is unlikely to be related to diabetes. But whatever happens, as a diabetic, you're going to need lots of tests today. Whether you go out probably depends on whether you're going to throw up again. So maybe try eating and/or drinking and see what happens? 24 hour bug? Just need to vomit whatever disagrees with you? I have no idea.

In regards to hypo risks, I'd keep testing, frequently, till I knew whether my blood sugar was heading up or down. If it's going down, maybe try some glucose. If that doesn't stay down, forget about your trip out, you need to phone 111. (Or maybe direct to an ambulance).

Good luck. Being ill is miserable, adding diabetes makes it worse. But unfortunately being diabetic doesn't get you a get out of jail free card for non diabetic illnesses. (On the plus side, 49 years T1 here, had my fair share of vomiting illnesses, and I'm still alive. So don't panic, but monitor your blood sugar carefully. You don't want to go hypo.)

Or just ring 111 and ask for advice anyway. :)

And don't worry about disappointing your friends. No one would expect you do go up when you've just thrown up.

Hi @Lulu9101112 ,

How are you feeling now?
It is a risk if you have active insulin on board & the food hasn't been digested & brought back up.
We can't realy diagnose why the tummy upset. There are a few "usual suspects."
If your blood sugars were fine to start with. I can't remember if you drink. Had you consume alcahol the night before.

As @EllieM , says keep some glucose handy in drink form. If you need to, sip slow & steady.

Hope you get well soon.

I guess it was one off because I watched dvds till 11.30am. I felt like my usual self and was able to keep water in. So i decided to go out I was fine and was able to hold all food in. I just avoided eating dairy. So i guess then milk was off at breakfast and that’s what caused me to throw up or it was just a once thing. Suprisingly my blood stayed at similar level. Breakfast-5.6 lunch 5.6 and dinner 6.3.weird but good
