hey guy i want to ask you guys who dont prebolus if you eat somthing really carby like 40grams carbs of toast with peanut butter what would be your end result bg if you started lets say 6mmol i seem to go to 11mmols and stay there and need to correct

To me that is a difficult question.
It depends what it is that I ate in terms of how fast the carbs are digested. For example, the fat in the peanut butter is likely to slow down the absorption.

And then I would need to test a lot to find out my peak; if I waited until I next ate (4 - 5 hours later), I would miss the peak.
For some a CGM or the Libre may show this but they are not accurate enough especially at extremes of high or low.

If you find you are staying at the peak, that suggests you have not taken enough insulin.
Maybe your insulin to carb ratio is a bit low or the protein is affecting your insulin needs.

Does the PB have sugar on in it? If so your probably not counting it.
Is the bread white or brown and how thick is it, for me any kind of white bread and I'm heading high much quicker then brown bread.

Have a similar breakfast most mornings

4-5 eggs
2 Brown bread toasts with natural PB
200ml of milk

45g carbs 28g fat 45g protein

And for this I would typically bolus and wait about 15 mins before eating if my BGL was around 4 - 6.5. If I just bolused and ate straight away I'd get the spike you are referring to

I would be tempted to try the toast without the fat (i.e. the peanut butter) as Helen has pointed out it delays the carb absorption and see what your finishing result is then. Fat always causes me an issue, a good example is eating late at night I can see the BG rise and it sits there till morning when I correct so avoid fat at night now.
