Quick question

That would depend on your postprandial bg levels, I did use to eat All-Bran before changing to traditional porridge oats.

Not good, cereal is carbohydrates that turn to sugar when digested, milk is full of lactose which is a sugar. But the only way to know for certain if you can tolerate a meal is to test before and 2 hours after the meal, then you will see what effect it has had on your blood sugar

I would say bad for the reasons given above. It is difficult to advise because you haven't stated what type you are and what meds you are on, if any, and whether you have your own meter.

everyone saying it is bad isn't really fair to be honest............

as @Bluetit1802 says more information is needed to advise properly.............

ultimately you would need to eat it, test and observe the results......

nothing is off limits until you have proven otherwise.....;)

Bran Flakes with semi skimmed milk, good or bad.
I can eat a small portion of bran flakes with whole milk with little effect on my BS however I've tested this breakfast at least 3 times before being confident that they are OK. In addition everyone is different so the only real way of telling if/how they will affect you is by testing.

Thanks all, type 2 1000mg of Metformin twice a day. I'll stay away from them until I get my Levels down I think.

Wise decision, at least for now. There are plenty of other breakfast choices without cereals. (and milk can be dicey for many type 2's)

Can you recommend some carb fee breakfasts apart from eggs? I do like cereal in the morning, have done for 10 years I'll miss my morni g bran flakes...........

Test before and two hours after eating your bran flakes .. who knows you may be ok :)

Sausages (97% meat ones are good), mushrooms, with your eggs?

There are some good recipes for nut-granola (with cinnamon and cocoa) that you can add to full-fat yoghurt if you can't face eggs. I'm fact, I'll go and get mine from the office fridge right now :)

I am so loving my concoption in the morning, having been missing my porridge from days of old! An egg, whisked up in a cereal bowl then mixed with ground almonds, I add anything from almond essence, frozen rasberrys, plums, blueberrys. grated lemon, to chia seeds, nots and/or coconut....etc. Then after cooking for two minutes in the microwave I break it up with a fork and mix with a little cream or yoghurt. I know it has an egg but doesn't 'feel' eggy and keeps me going through my run and all morning. Sometimes I add a sprinkle of xylitol if I am feeling cheeky. I also have Greek yoghurt, with berths and a little cream, or a slice of my home mead linseed or 1/2 slice of Burgen bread ( or half a lidl low carb roll) laden with marmite and absolute lashings of peanut butter. Personally I dont think I could manage bran flakes xx

My standard breakfast is half a Lidl High Protein roll, toasted, with peanut butter (the proper whole nut stuff, no sugar) mixed with a bit of tahini. Lovely...
