Thank You For The Music by yes ... you've guessed it ... A B B A ))))))))))))))))

Have you watched the Austrailian film Muriels Wedding? If not, you WILL love it, RRB

No, but I'll see if I can get it from Lovefilm. Is it based on ABBA music?

It is based on Abba music, YES. Muriel is obsessed with Abba. Its a great film very funny but also some sad moments. I loved the rendition of Waterloo with a friend of hers whilst on holiday, its absolutley brilliant, its so good. You must see it  RRB

I love this Fairport Convention song - Slip Jigs and Reels, there's a super bit where Ric Sanders plays a train whistle sound on his fiddle which I always turn up full volume. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vF98hXJf2c&feature=fvst
Failing that I pop on Morris On. I defy anyone not to jump up and dance around - preferably waving white hankies

Like you RRB I loved Muriels Wedding. The Aussies seem to be really good at the funny films with music as well as MW I loved Strictly Ballroom and Pricilla Queen of the Desert  Quite liked Baz Urlman's (don't know if that is right spelling) Moulin Rouge.

"Say When (Ozymandias)" and "Musical Chairs" by Fair to Midland.
"Lift", "Skin" and "Fire" by Poets of the Fall.
"Orchard of Mines" by Globus (and the cover done by Asia is good too!)
"Calling You", bu Blue October.
"Nara" by E.S. Posthumus.
"Protectors of the Earth" and "Heart of Courage" by Two Steps from Hell.
"Rogue Heart", "Tavern Music" and "Fenris' Theme" by Inon Zur.
"Dig" and "Drive" by Incubus.
"Icarus" by Mythos.
"Deus Ex Machina" and "Nimos and Tambos" by Pure Reason Revolution.
"Hero" by Skillet.
"Hesitate" by Stone Sour.
"Toccata - Carpimus Notem" by Trans Siberian Orchestra.
"Touched" by V.A.S.T.
"Hurricane" and "Kings and Queens" by 30 Seconds to Mars.
"Crumble" by Phideaux.

That's not all of them, but I'd be here all day if I listed everything

Music has always played a very big part in my life and can set a mode very easily. Just recently I have become aware of a project called Playing For Change, the following taken from their web site explains what they're about.

The Inspiration

Playing for Change is a multimedia movement created to inspire, connect, and bring peace to the world through music. The idea for this project arose from a common belief that music has the power to break down boundaries and overcome distances between people. No matter whether people come from different geographic, political, economic, spiritual or ideological backgrounds, music has the universal power to transcend and unite us as one human race. And with this truth firmly fixed in our minds, we set out to share it with the world.

Some of the most uplifting music I have come across is to be found on their web site and here are three of my favourites:

http://playingforchange.com/episodes/8/ ... re_Trouble - Warning contains Bono!

I loved Pricilla Queen of the Desert, a brilliant film and Guy Pearce was excellent in it. Do you remember Men at Work - Do you come from a land down under? I heard it recently and was singing along to it, it was great, aahhhhhhh memories. Best wishes RRB
