Hi
I have been a type 1 for almost 60 yrs with only raised BP. I have a cold and notice my BSs are raised and difficult to get to normoglycaemic range without taking a lot more insulin. What is experience of other type 1s? Should I just increase my Novo rapid at the risk of hypos or does anyone have another strategy?
Thank you
Mark

Any stress on your body is Likely to increase you BG. So it should be no surprise you are experiencing this with a cold.
Typically, I increase my basal a little, test more often and make corrections with bolus.
Once I feel I am over the worst of my cold, sports injury, stressful week at work, ... I return my basal to normal.

Hello @livabet1 When I get colds or bugs my blood glucose levels also become raised so yes I do have to take correction doses of novorapid to bring my levels down, but also test more to check too what's going on.
