Type of diabetes
Treatment type
Diet only
I've spent all my working life as a scientist, which I am happy to say I've enjoyed.
What really gets me is how science is reported in media, usually through headlines from for subeditors, if they exist any more...
This one really did it:

ONE sentence on toast.
Then a bunch of stuff on the Med diet....

and tomorrow it will be back to red wine is good/bad for you....

arrghhhh......

Had to laugh about the the toast and all the lives that must be being being put at risk.

What's your take on Mythbusters?

Wow that is so bad on so many levels...

"A study of more than 3,000 people found those who consumed just 12 grams (0.42 ounces) were twice as likely to develop the disease within the next five years."

12g of what though? toast, butter, buttered toast? It doesn't even make sense

"Butter is rich in unhealthy saturated fatty acids and trans fats"

trans fats in butter? not if it is regular butter surely..certainly not any appreciable amount..

Shocking sensationalist bulls417..
But hey! Back in the 80s they pretty much told us shaking hands with a gay gave us AIDS???!

Give it a decade.. They will pick on something else... & this will all be "toast."

What an idiotic article in the hard copy paper today. Did they try toast without butter and butter without the toast? I think we know what the result would have been - it's the carbs not the fat.

Well, it says fresh bread is good for you, so toasting it must cause diabetes.

You know it makes sense.

That's it. It's the dust diet for me from now on. Everything else will give me diabetes - I don't want type 2 and type 1, cancer, heart disease, Alzheimers, a pimple on my little finger, scrofula, baldness, render me infertile and worst of all, a gullable hypochondriac.

It's utter tosh!
That means I was eating buttered toast at 3 yr old onwards to have diabetes a 6yr old. Tosh!
Unless toast is transferable to a foetus? Mother? We're you eating buttered toast in pregnancy?
Now there's rubbish journalism. Toast is dangerous in pregnancy!!!
