Reactive Hypoglycaemia

Thanks both and no I wondered what far bombs were. I am feeling much much clearer and the dizziness and visual issues have lifted. I'm freaking out tonight because of my pins and needles feeling but I'm sure it's my meds.

I have a horrid taste in my mouth when I wake which I am guessing is ketosis?

Thanks for the links I will have a good look and at the fat bombs.

Sadly the blog one doesn't work.
Hi Linagirl. How are u doing? Do u go still low? Like under 3.5?! Have u swollen joints?! I got finally different blood test done, like.....IgG,IgE, IgM,IgA, U/E, CRP. Have to wait for about 4to5 weeks! Do u have low vitamin D?

I do have low vit D jey. I supplement each day, what are the blood tests you mention ?

I have never gone low but I can get hypo symptoms with normal blood sugar if they have peaked first.

Having hypo symptoms at 5.4. Any suggestions for a good bed time

Morning Emma, did you sort your bedtime hypo symptoms? Sorry only just read your post. What did you eat in the end?

I still find it weird that we can have symptoms at those levels. I too have never at a true hypo level at home.

Thanks for the tip on low adrenal function. I looked it up and I do suffer some of the symptoms. I spoke to my consultant last night and he says I've been tested for it already and was fine. He does still think there may be something else going on to explain my symptoms other than glucose levels. I'm not so sure, but I woke at 7 this morning and ate a few almonds to keep me going while I had my shower. I tested before breakfast and was 6.2 but I was still shaky. Clearly can't be low bg causing it.

I'll let you know if he comes up with anything in case it could help you too.
Regards
Kaz

Have a google about adrenal exhaustion.

It is quite a common concept in Chinese medicine.
As far as I know, it sometimes happens to certain individuals after a period of prolongued stress. It doesn't mean that there is anything WRONG with the adrenals necessarily. More that they are tired after a period of over use, and need a rest, and will recover with time.

Can't give more details from memory, but you may find it interesting to do the research yourselves.
Although, of course, I don't think it is recognised by Western Medicine, and I may be barking up the wrong tree.

I had it diagnosed in me about 20 years ago by a lovely alternative practitioner my mother sent me to. He suggested vitamin supplements and a few dietary suggestions, but I cannot for the life of me remember the details. The symptoms went away shortly after, and I haven't given it a thought since. :)

I take an adrenal glandular support which I get from nutri adrenal but you really need to see a practitioner first to see if it is relevant to you. There are old school tests which can indicate adrenal fatigue your consultant won't recognise it unless you have either none or way too much for them there is no middle ground.

I see a man in Crawley but he is more a thyroid specialist you could try him to see if he could assist. Let me know if you want his details. He is a retired gp and a very kind man.

Trying coffee with cream for breakfast this morning. How soon does anyone eat after this? Brun and Kaz I think you do this?

Just had my 24 hour blood pressure report and they took 38 successful readings and none were in the red section. My waking average was 114/64 and sleeping was 99/55. Keep everything crossed for a clear MRI tomorrow

A waking average of 114/64 is really good . Hope your MRI goes well.

I don't have coffee and cream for breakfast as I don't think it would be enough for me. This week I've had 125g Greek yogurt with a couple of strawberries, few blueberries and 25g mixed nuts. I'm usually starting to get hungry after the school run so I have coffee and cream then.

Ok today I had a numb cheek for a couple of minutes, yesterday for about 15 seconds and it reminded me I had one a few weeks ago. Its bizarre no other symptoms at the time but I think half hour to an hour after eating.
This morning I had a coffee with cream, 1 toast and a banana, 9.6 after half hour. More sensitive this week I've been as low as 4.1 then body correcting itself. No hypos just those low/spin warning signs.
