Reading is HI

I've just taken reading and it states HI. Ive never had that before. Please advise x

Hello there, what are your blood glucose tests usually saying on your meter? Are they high recently?

You may be showing readings so high your meter is off the chart, I would phone an emergency out of hours to be safe

Rewash your hands and recheck incase you have something on your finger affecting the result.

Do another test, just to check, meters can sometimes be wrong, and as Rachox says, wash your hands, it's quite easy to get something on your hands.

Please check your ketones if possible and get back to us if you can't, and judging by your age, ring 111 if in the UK, to get some advice

Hi there - What are your more usual results like? Do you have a cold, virus or anything else at the moment? When did you last eat?

In your shoes, I might be seriously considering a chat with 111.

That's a bit better, at least we know where you are, now. Still high, but not unknown high. What diabetes medication are you taking? what is your normal blood sugar range? have you done anything that might have made it go high?

I take Metformin and Gliclazide.
I had not long eaten a Pot Noodle.
Usual readings are about 10

Was it the pot noodle that made you go so high? hopefully it's a bit lower now.

At around 60g of carbohydrate per pot (depending on flavour) I would say so

That is more carbs than I have eaten in the last two days - so that is probably the reason - why are you eating concentrated carbs? Even with medication it seems unwise.
