Ready to throw pump out the window

Reps and consultants tend to show you to change the gram amount. It was iHs from this site who mentioned to me about changing the unit size instead to get better tweaks. It has certainly worked out better for my friends dsughter as well. Her consultant told her over the phone to raise bolus by 10%... She was on 1 unit to 8g and she could not figure out how to change by 10% as going to 1 to 7g was more than 10% change. So instead I suggested changing to 1.1units to 8gram and this little tweak has balanced her along with tweaks to the basal as then even 10% was too much extra but we cant fine tune bolus's any more accurately on the combo.

A lot of this only comes with experience, I certainly didnt know this from any rep or consultant...it was only thanks to another fantastic pump user that helped me so much.

It'll take a little time to fully understand all the gizmo's that can be tweaked on a pump. I'm almost 4 years in to it and still learning from others...Shell its early days, I know you are so worried, but honestly it does get easier. Honest.

I agree but when a consultant tells someone over the phone to lower their bolus by 10% they obviously havent got a clue how to do it!!!! Gggrrrrrrr-lol!!!!
