Attended the Ophthalmology clinic today at my local hospital for my 8 monthly eye check, got to the second bottom line with left eye and read the bottom line with my right, the Ophthalmologist give my eyes a thorough check and said they were absolutely fine and to come back again in 8 months.

Really pleased to say the least as I had a rough few weeks with my Costochondritis condition which was suspected to be angina, the inflammation is now settling down and things are starting to look up once again, I hate clinic appointments and worry about them beforehand but tonight I feel on top of the world! :)

Regards

Nigel

thats great news on the eye check.
glad your Costochondritis is settling down also as I know just how painful it can be I suffer from frequent flares of it linked to lupus.

Interesting......how often do you get a flare-up louise?

Nigel

I have as many as 10 flare up in a year or as little as 2 in a year tbh it really depends on how my lupus or S.L.E is, if its stable I dont really have trouble from Costochondritis.
I currently have a flare of both conditions at present.

Just did a google and it seems they are both closely linked.

Nigel

both conditions are closely linked but Costochondritis is mostly caused by a trauma e.g something like a whiplash from a car accident.

Great news Nigel, really chuffed for you fella :D

Hiya nigel, brilliant news bet you're relieved, enjoy feeling so positive and top of the world! Nice to hear some great news and results. Anna.x :D

Great news Nigel!
I've never heard of that condition, just googled it;and I'm not surprised you were thinking it was your heart, that must have been really frightening.
I'm one of those people that every time I have indigestion or hormonal breast pain I think I'm taking my last breath! LOL . I was having tests on my heart last summer as I've been suffering palpitations for a while. I had a CT scan to check my arteries which came back as completely clear, so I know how relieved you're feeling. I was gobsmacked, I honestly expected bad news, with being type-1 for so long. We always hear the health probs associated with diabetes so it's nice to get good news about our health, eh?
Jus :D

Thanks everyone much appreciated, as ever the support on here is fantastic! :D

Jus, there was times a few weeks back when I thought I was drawing my last breath, not very pleasant as they tell you to summon help when you have pains in the chest and arms. Pleased your scan came back clear, it is such a relief when they tell you the news, I had the same risk factors-type 1 for 30 years, father had by-pass surgery in his late 50's and mum has angina, to be told all is fine and dandy is the best news ever.....let's hope we continue with good health for the foreseeable future! :)

It is so nice to hear these sorts of accounts, so pleased for you NIgel.

Having had a heart attack in the past, every niggly pain I used to think, "Oh no, here we go again". I have been reassured that I do have some scarring but my heart is functioning very well. Being diabetic and knowing all the possible complications is an extra worry for us all.

Glad that it wasn't angina, still sounds nasty though (I had to look it up as well)

Thanks Catherine and Phoenix! :) Yes I had to google it too when told it was Costochondritis......never heard of it! :(
