I haven't posted for a while but I got my 3 month Hb results to-day
October 2011 HbA1c = 12.6%
December 2011 HbA1c = 8%
March 2012 HbA1c = 6.7%
She who must be obeyed ( ie the nurse ) says that I should aim to get it down to 6.5% , I said I want it under 5% so must work harder .
I also packed ciggies in on 11/12/11 , but went onto nicotine replacement therapy , gum and inhalator , I've noticed that my neuropathy seems to have been getting worse , both feet but the tingling seems to have spread nearly to my knees and the pain on the soles of my feet has been nasty . This may sound odd but my blood pressure had also gone up ... hmmm ... nicotine restricts blood vessels and I already have CVI ( Chronic venous insufficiency ) and the neuropathy is both CVI and diabetes related .. it seems that I may have been getting more nicotine from the gum and inhalator than I was from the ciggies . So no nicotine since Saturday last week and the pain is less, tingling retreating down the legs and blood pressure back to 130/80 ( was up to 168/104 ) .. no more nicotine ! Lesson learned .
Embrace the cauliflower , love the cauliflower , munch the cauliflower ... good job I like cauliflower .
Take care , stop smoking , eat cauliflower .
