iv recently had my blood test forctype diabetes and the sugar level has reduced from 90 to 50 , my doctor has mentioned me possibly taking a inhibitor medication in addition to the meta form in I currently take, does anyone have any experience of inhibitors,

Well done for that reduction. Great job! No I can't speak about inhibitors. How long between tests? Do you think you could improve on your score at next test without extra meds?

Hi Nia772. Are you type 1 or 2? I’m assuming type 2 because of the metformin and inhibitors mentioned. It’s very important we know. Please go back to your profile and add that detail in along with your medications. You have to do it from a browser not the app. If you’re type 1 then the below is less relevant

I’m surprised with such a great drop (I’m assuming in 3 months?) that your dr wants to add more meds before seeing how you go in the next 3 months. You’re close to the cut off for diagnosis of 48mmol. A low carb diet if you’re not already doing so could quite possibly take you down to prediabetic or even non diabetic figures. That’s limited or no sugar, bread, potato, pasta, rice and all cereals including oats. Brown carbs are still carbs as are oats, they may release a bit slower but they still add up. Energy is replaced with protein and good fats. We can give you guidance, reasoning and links if that would be helpful. Not all drs are updated enough to promote this but it is supported by the NHS as effective

How do you want to manage it? How do you eat currently?
