I’m surprised with such a great drop (I’m assuming in 3 months?) that your dr wants to add more meds before seeing how you go in the next 3 months. You’re close to the cut off for diagnosis of 48mmol. A low carb diet if you’re not already doing so could quite possibly take you down to prediabetic or even non diabetic figures. That’s limited or no sugar, bread, potato,pasta,rice and all cereals including oats. Brown carbs are still carbs as are oats, they may release a bit slower but they still add up. Energy is replaced with protein and good fats. We can give you guidance, reasoning and links if that would be helpful. Not all drs are updated enough to promote this but it is supported by the NHS as effective
