I have managed to keep my HBA1c to 5.8 for two years by eating whole grains..... traditional rolled oats for breakfast....made with water...with a teaspoon of honey......plus raspberries and ground flax seeds.
Pearl barley, broccoli, with.spinach and tomato soup......no salt no stock cube........
You can eat very well if you focus on low cholesterol low salt low fat.....whfoods website is brilliant for indepth nutritional information and it has recipes too!
