Thanks for that link - I am looking for new walking shoes as I have nearly destroyed the last pair that worked@ianpspurs and @Goonergal I thought you might be interested in these, bearing in mind your back and leg problems:

A friend came round yesterday, I havent seen her for a couple of years and she was wearing a pair. She has suffered from back pain for donkeys years but says she is fine since wearing them. They took a while to get used to but she stuck with them, and you get a 100 day trial so you can always return them if you don’t get on with them. They are quite expensive (of course) but she reckons worth every penny and wears them all the time now.
I’m going to try some to see if they will help with my neuropathic foot pain.
Just re-read this and it sounds like a cheesy advert, sorry, not meant to be as I havent any experience of them at all.
You are obviously a very experienced cyclist so this may be like teaching granny to suck eggs. For goodness sake on't rush it and cause a longer lay offFinished the week at 88 miles on my bike. All on the trainer. Maybe I can shake the bone pain this week and put a bike out on the road this next weekend, weather permitting.
Worked on the lawn this weekend- but could not walk the uneven surfaces in the yard. So son had to do the mowing part.
Amazing step counts @Goonergal and glad the shins seem to be much improved. I had a good day on Saturday and spent yesterday ferrying elderly - 80 and 88 - year old relatives around so only about 3k steps - oh and 20 mins exercise bike early on. Today started with a good 40 mins on exercise bike then it became a very good idea not to stray far from base so 13 hrs with 250+ steps and 5.2k on pedometer is all I managed.Hi all. Playing catch up on the forum after a few days away. Lots of walking while away: today’s 14692 steps paltry compared to 33561 yesterday, 29242 on Saturday 29342 on Friday. Day of travel on Thursday was 15840.
Hoping to get away from tomorrow’s physio in time to get back to swimming.
Editing to thank @DJC3 for the shoes link. My shins seem to be much improved recently. Wondering if the Pilates has anything to do with it.

How about a retired teacher saying that's life - all those things that happen in between the plans @SlimLizzyBeen bad todayoverslept, estate agent appointment- skipped exercises and shower. Then its cancelled, because of the weather, so pottering about the house. Totally forgot the walking group . To town in the car ( pouring with rain ) and not a lot done since return home. Moderate exercise, this ain't it. Teacher would say " Must do better"
I used to do Pilate and I felt it's harder than yoga now I just do yoga only it seems to suit me better because I do lots of swimming and walking.Hi all. But I managed to complete it, legendMorning all a horrible session last night, Deadlifts (might as well have been deadlifts of death, it was that bad) 175kg 5x3 and they were truly horrible, truly, truly horrible. But I managed to complete it, the rest of the week better be good. Take care everyone.
I wouldn't go that far, stubborn yes that's it stubborn! But I managed to complete it, legend
Modest???I wouldn't go that far, stubborn yes that's it stubborn!
I just have to finish something when it starts, especially in training, my wife thinks I'm single minded around my training, as in if I say I'm going to do something then it has to be done!! wish I could be like that in other things!!Modest???
