Regular moderate exercise log

@ianpspurs and @Goonergal I thought you might be interested in these, bearing in mind your back and leg problems:
https://www.vivobarefoot.com/uk/about-us#feet

A friend came round yesterday, I havent seen her for a couple of years and she was wearing a pair. She has suffered from back pain for donkeys years but says she is fine since wearing them. They took a while to get used to but she stuck with them, and you get a 100 day trial so you can always return them if you don’t get on with them. They are quite expensive (of course) but she reckons worth every penny and wears them all the time now.
I’m going to try some to see if they will help with my neuropathic foot pain.

Just re-read this and it sounds like a cheesy advert, sorry, not meant to be as I havent any experience of them at all.

Thanks for that link - I am looking for new walking shoes as I have nearly destroyed the last pair that worked
Edit: Spent time reading about these. Did their squat test and questionnaire - apparently I need to do some training before I can spend nearly £200 on their shoes:arghh::arghh:

Sunday afternoon swimming.

And a not a very good one at that, my shoulders were trying to rest from their workout yesterday I think, and the swim lane was quite packed, by the time I'd got a rhythm going my goggles steamed up and I could only see the line on the pool floor so I gave up, 700m of various strokes....

Finished the week at 88 miles on my bike. All on the trainer. Maybe I can shake the bone pain this week and put a bike out on the road this next weekend, weather permitting.

Worked on the lawn this weekend- but could not walk the uneven surfaces in the yard. So son had to do the mowing part.

You are obviously a very experienced cyclist so this may be like teaching granny to suck eggs. For goodness sake on't rush it and cause a longer lay off

Morning all squats yesterday, shoulder pain is still there but getting under the bar a lot quicker now. A nice 125kg 3x3 (second time in the hundreds in over 5yrs!!) competition is only six weeks away so only five training weeks left, hopefully I will be ready in time!!

Take care everyone.

Rained off work so I went to the gym quite early afternoon, better day with bloods as I'm settling with the morning Tresiba jab, an ok session, one handed dumb bell press to 34kg, felt very odd :) bog standard 2 armed :p bench press to 80kg, one armed flys, one armed on the press machine and normal pull overs to 38kg, usual warm up but with some 'bottoms up' one armed shoulder presses as they're helping me with mobility it seems.

Pleased enough with that :)

Hi all. Playing catch up on the forum after a few days away. Lots of walking while away: today’s 14692 steps paltry compared to 33561 yesterday, 29242 on Saturday 29342 on Friday. Day of travel on Thursday was 15840.

Hoping to get away from tomorrow’s physio in time to get back to swimming.

Editing to thank @DJC3 for the shoes link. My shins seem to be much improved recently. Wondering if the Pilates has anything to do with it.

Amazing step counts @Goonergal and glad the shins seem to be much improved. I had a good day on Saturday and spent yesterday ferrying elderly - 80 and 88 - year old relatives around so only about 3k steps - oh and 20 mins exercise bike early on. Today started with a good 40 mins on exercise bike then it became a very good idea not to stray far from base so 13 hrs with 250+ steps and 5.2k on pedometer is all I managed.:arghh:

40 minutes on exercise bike not to be sniffed at. Glorious weather in Hannover - shorts and t-shirt and up to mid 20s every day. A very walkable city with plenty to see and do. Inadvertently wandered into the red light district yesterday afternoon!

Evening all. @Goonergal blimey! That’s a lot of walking, glad the shins held out, and that your trip was good.
My phone died this evening so no idea on step count. Around 10k I expect. Did 20 mins on exercise bike first thing and 75 min yoga class this evening.

Been bad today:( overslept, estate agent appointment- skipped exercises and shower. Then its cancelled, because of the weather, so pottering about the house. Totally forgot the walking group . To town in the car ( pouring with rain ) and not a lot done since return home. Moderate exercise, this ain't it. Teacher would say " Must do better"

How about a retired teacher saying that's life - all those things that happen in between the plans @SlimLizzy

I used to do Pilate and I felt it's harder than yoga now I just do yoga only it seems to suit me better because I do lots of swimming and walking.

Morning all a horrible session last night, Deadlifts (might as well have been deadlifts of death, it was that bad) 175kg 5x3 and they were truly horrible, truly, truly horrible. But I managed to complete it, the rest of the week better be good.

Take care everyone.

But I managed to complete it, legend

A Tuesday back session, standard warm up and mostly one handed work, pull downs, seated cable rows, kneeling rows, shrugs and bent over rows, and a new exercise, one handed on a high cable machine with straight arm pull downs, not too heavy session tho I did some normal pull downs at 80kg to finish the one handed ones :)

Must be working as I'm getting a blood sugar slight rise from this one handed stuff as I'm outside my 'comfort zone'.
