Regular moderate exercise log

Morning everyone, finally got the all clear to begin training again, so last night was deadlift 165kg for 5x3 nice and easy too. First one back and loved it, seven weeks to my competition so nose to the grindstone and all that, the road to 470kg total begins.

Take care everyone

Good news @johnpol I hope the training goes well. I look forward to being wowed by your posts here.

Swimming was 1450m breaststroke or 58 lengths in 35.13 says the swim watch, a bit of frustration, twice, being overtaken by blokes also breast stroking but then stopping and getting out so I couldn't catch back up and overtake or at least pace off them, I was growling to myself over it mid swim :)

And then next door to the gym to work my back, I've decided to change things a bit, I see a weaker arm and wrist and shoulder joint that needs attention so am doing everything one handed for a while, starting with my left side which is the weaker, so funny one handed wide grip pull downs, close grip the same, one handed kneeling rows, one handed seated cable rows and single handed shrugs, I think I pulled some faces but it felt ok.

I did Google 'training a weak wrist' but the answers weren't quite what I was looking for..... :p

It would be good to be able to either feel pleased with the amount/quality of exercise or the impact on bg control. Not really happening at the moment but September was a month of setbacks so perhaps I need to lower expectations. Swimming lesson and 15k steps so not idle but not likely to do much for fitness or bg.

15 mins on static bike before breakfast and 11k steps today.
Signed up for aqua aerobics tomorrow - should be a laugh.

Let me know how that goes - been thinking about that.
I love it. You soon get to know the regulars and it can be a laugh. I do Aqua Fit and Aqua Zumba. Both are pretty energetic. I'll be interested to know if your class uses aqua weights. I have my own large aqua weights and boy do these things get heavy underwater. Noodles are well used too. A seriously energetic class is deep water Aqua but a buoyancy belt is useful for that as treading water for 45 mins is a wee bit tiring!
Aqua Zumba is pretty full on too. The resistance in The Water really ups the effort. I've been going 9 years now and still not bored with it.

I've taken to encouraging my students to use the outside gym equipment if we've time at lunchtime. They are highly entertained by my attempts to use some of it as well and were not sympathetic when I was complaining about aching muscles. (More of a mini twinge of "Ooo - we've not been used like that for a while" rather than a full-scale achiness.)

As it was a gym day off but I'd not finished Mondays session I went and trained chest again, but all one handed :) and I've got to say this is quite fun, very strange lopsided feeling dumb bell pressing with one bell but I'm getting my head round it.

And then the little un and I had half hour in the pool a bit later on so not a bad day at all.

A march up hill for the last mile home with a rucksack full of shopping is a good method of reducing blood sugars to a level where I do not feel at all bad about eating more pudding than usual.

Parts of my body feel I did O.K. today but that means didly squat to blood sugar levels. 25 mins exercise bike early morning, lawn mowing and 15k+ steps. I have increased steps since physio said go for it and see what happens. Everything seems ok so far. I did duck out of doing some weights before evening meal but I think I'll get there slowly. Hope y'all had good days.

Hello everyone
Today I did 15 mins exercise bike before breakfast. Late morning was 1 hr Aqua aerobics class. @Goonergal and @maglil55 I really enjoyed this. I have no coordination and can’t dance for toffee but as all of me except my head and shoulders was under water it didnt matter if bits of me weren’t doing the right thing at the right time. We did use ‘weights’ and I really felt the resistance - much more difficult than it looks. The instructor was good. She said you’ll basically get out of it what you put in. I was quite out of breath for most of it which I wasn’t expecting. I did 20 mins of breaststroke after the class to cool off.
10.5 steps in all.

Thanks for the update. I’ll look into the class here.

Today was a bit under 13k steps. Planning some serious walking while I’m away.

When I first started I remember thinking how the heck can you sweat in a swimming pool . The weights are surprising aren't they? Mine are double size and really tough going.

Goodness, double size! Your arms must be so toned! I could barely cope with the normal ones.
