Regular moderate exercise log

Well, I've been a total sloth for at least a week and my BSs have been appalling lately. So finally shook off the dust and walked yesterday and today. May take a while to re-establish order in the BSs, though.

Well done - it's often hard to get back into routine.
 
4 miles yesterday and 4 miles today so happy with that. Just need to keep it up.
 
Yesterday was a five mile walk and today went swimming.
 
My walk this afternoon was also in the rain and I realised not very long back I'd have thought that was a miserable way to be spending my time. Instead, it felt pleasantly calm. I was walking across the town I live in and I was amazed at how many other people were out. Lots were dog-walking, but there was really a complete mixture, despite the grey skies and yet more rain.

Wow ... not sure I could cope with that. Did live for a few years in those sorts of temperatures and used to dash from air con to air con when it went up to and over 30.
 
Went to the gym today, cardio and weights.
 
6 miles walking today - just managed to avoid the rain.
 
I've only clocked up half my target for walking today, but I've been packing up boxes ready for moving, which has entailed way more weight-lifting than I'm used to! I hope the removal men are fitter than I am.

Not been on here for a while but I have still been doing stuff.

Pre Christmas went to see and ortho specialist as I've been having foot pains. Xrays showed bone spurs and degenerating big toe joints, but not yet suitable for the risk of surgery. Orthotics will be trialled.

Also been suffering shin splits, so rested between Christmas and new year, with a new years Eve 10k race. Target off poor training was a modest 45min, f*****g windy, came in at a disappointing 45:43, but still 146/566 and 19th age group.

With a reduction in running imminent,
- Weights on Saturday - that hurt
- got out on the bike yesterday and got a bit wet at the end, but got 71km in in 2hrs 35, and on only 45g extra carbs. The low carb diet seems to be working.

Back at work today so started afresh after a very out of control Christmas and New Year. I'm too self conscious for the gym so I'm doing sets of stairs (3 storeys) instead. I did 3 sets first thing in the morning and 2 at lunchtime.
 
Lots of stairs for me now back at work too and a quick stroll at lunch.
