Reporting malfunction to the Regulator

Hi
Just wondered- if you get an error with your pump, would you report it to the regulator (the MHRA) via the Yellow Card scheme
If not why not?
 
I would report it only if I not not receive good support from the manufacturer.
My Animas pump failed once. I called on a Sunday and they had a replacement pump to me first thing on Tuesday.

I was trained behave as if to expect my pump to fail and always have a backup solution.
It is a complex machine with has to put up with quite a rigorous lifestyle 24 x 7 so I am not surprised by the a rare failure.

Thinking about this more, my expectation is that a failure should always result in less (or no) insulin being given and with frequent testing (as advised), a rise in BG should be detected in time to do something about it.
If the pump problem resulted in extra insulin being delivered this is potentially fatal in a very short period of time and should be addressed by the regulator.
 
@snorman Are you new to pumping ?, you don't mention which pump your on or the issue you have seen.

I agree with @helensaramay, be prepared for failure also errors can be self generated and pumps live with you 24/7 in the most case for 4 years.

If your pump fails completely and needs replacement then this is the type of issue I would report.

I would report it to the manufacturer, a good chance of the pump being replaced with a new / reconditioned one under warranty.
