I can get that eating resistant starch has less effect on your BG than eating non-resistant starch. With luck you can eat things like pasta and rice cooked the right way without major BG spikes.
I still haven't grasped the jump from that to deliberately eating resistant start to improve your insulin response to other foods which are chock full of non-resistant starch..
Because I consume more than 30 grams of RS daily I can eat food that would normally send my BG thro' the roof. The RS stops the spikes from starchy food being high.
(My RS intake = potato starch 45grams = 30grams RS plus what I get from other foods i.e. green bananas > 5grams RS and overnight oats > 3grams RS)
I have put links in below as they can explain what Resistant Starch is and what it does far better than I could.
These are my go to sites and have read thro' them thoroughly, there is a lot of information in them.

I would suggest that anyone doing the low carb diets and it's working to stay on it.
But if you are struggling to keep on top of your diabetes then I would suggest having a go at the Resistant Starch Diet it works for me but may not work for you, it's well worth a shot.
If you are going to have a go at the RS diet please dont do it half heartedly as it simply will not work, In my opinion you would have to consume at least 20grams of RS daily for it to have a chance of working.
Update to my diet.
I have started eating 3 times daily instead of 4 times and have found good improvement in my BG levels.
Tuesday FBG was 7.1 my last meal was a chicken stir fry with 125g rice, pre prandial 6.6, post prandial 7.6
Wednesday FBG was 6.5 my last meal was a Large bowl of Chilli, pre prandial 5.6, post prandial 6.4
