Hi forum members, moderators and guests,

Well, here is the new forum. At first, it might not seem better, but the main gripes with the old forum will be gone. That is:

- Speed (will be quicker to load and post)
- Reliability (will freeze less and should be more accessible)
- Cleaner (spam should be gone and easier to control)

I'm very sorry to read and hear that some posters are causing trouble, and this new software gives me much better power to investigate this type of situation. Also, with the new software, I will give the moderators the power to control this type of situation. I hate hearing about this kind of thing, because the whole point of the forum is to be an open resource that helps the diabetic community. My plan is to spend much more time on here in the next couple of months, to make sure everything is running smoothly and to keep a tighter rein on things. I can 100% assure people that the reasons for allowing free speech are not to do with apathy, both I and the other people who make up the team at Diabetes.co.uk work exceptionally hard. However, I realise that if this forum is to continue to be as good as it promised to be, I need to be here more.

I'd like to say a big thankyou to the moderators, who have done a huge and thankless task in fighting spam whilst we transferred to this software. Sugarless Sue, Kareeeta and Dennis have all been exceptional, and have taken up the reins whilst the forum has drifted in the last month. Thanks also to the posters far and wide who have helped people. Helping people is the name of the game here, and I was sad to see that people were thinking of leaving. In time, we are going to introduce a medical seal of approval from a qualified professional that we can apply to posts.

Can we use this thread to discuss resolving the problems on this forum, I'm all ears.

Best regards to you all,

Dan

Hi Kim,

Hearing that this forum has helped your daughter out is the best news I've had all day and a great way to start the weekend. Thankyou, and thanks to the people who helped out.

Regards,

Dan

aww im glad dan,
i do see there are a lot of different views on diabetes and how to go about getting good control but as everyone has said everyones different and diabetes is so complicated (in my eyes) its a long and rocky road for all but as long as we all come to learn that we are here to help each other and learn.
give the best support thats all thats needed each person has a choice to look at different opinions and take what they can from it. making it the best they can for them selfs and there health.
i am glad finally i can talk to people that actually know what im talking about and also teach me a few things or 2.
so no... thank you for making this site
:D

I think that the appearance of the forum is better and the speed has definately improved.

Can't say that I have noticed any problems, but then I don't have the chance to get on here like some others may do.

Well done with the new forum and keep up the good work.

No complaints from me either..and thank you for all the hard work that has gone into things.
Of course people disagree from time to time, and that is fine....as long as we all remember that most post are well intentioned...even if they can be painful to read sometimes!
Thanks to the mods too

I'm so glad to see everyone likes the site. We've got a nice little family here, and more welcome.I know families disagee with each other on occasions but lets try and keep it so that we help each other.I love reading the posts of those who joined totally confused and are now giving advice to others. That shows me that we are helping each other.

Love it. It's my comfort blanket, might get a bit hot sometimes but that doesn't bother me.
