Hi everyone, your probably getting fed up of me now but i keep getting all these question in my head. The more i read, the more questions i have. Sorry. My question is, how safe is it to reuse lancets? I'm afraid of infection. :?

Dee.

Don't be afraid to ask questions! Everyone here is happy to help... I don't change mine very often (only once every couple of weeks) - and I've never had an infection.

Same applies to me..

I reuse my lancets, can say how often I change them though as it sort of a case of when I get around to it

But I've never had a infections either I test about 10+ a day

If you are the only one using the lance then it's up the you.Personally I change every time.I always have plenty lances as compared to test strips.

Well as i get loads free i think i'll carry on changing each time. Thanks for the feed back.

I change my lancet religiously, at least once a quarter and whenever it's so blunt that no blood appears...lol!

And i've never had an infection, either.

Interesting question . . . and its made me think . . . I can't actually remember the last time I changed the lance so I'd better do it now!

Rought guide from me

Day of diagnosis - changed every time i used it
Week after diagnosis - changed it every day
Three weeks after diagnosis - hmm, slipped a bit
4 months after diagnosis - probably when it gets too sore and I think, hmm maybe its the lancet
That seems to be around the two week point

Some people reuse needles, which I dont do but maybe thats to come. I never thought I would inject through clothes and I do so ........
