Review of medical X ray?

Some weeks ago i was poorly with a chest infection which did not want to leave me I had to have two lots of antibiotics, so I went to the Doctor and asked for an X ray which I was given....I thought all was good as heard nothing until yesterday when the surgery rang me to tell me to make an appointment to see my doctor for a medical review of chest x ray ///now I lost my dad to lung cancer , my brother died last year to lung cancer too and my mom had a third of her lung out due to lung cancer I am now stressing myself out wondering what the heck is a medical review of a chest X Ray.... why they not tell me grrrr I can not try get in to see the Doctor till I ring up Thursday morning to see if he has an available appointment for me to slip into ...... so am wondering any one else had this ??

Sorry this has been such a scare for you.
The receptionist cannot really discuss that sort of stuff with you although they can try to make it easier for you to get an appointment if you explain you're worried about why the GP wants to see you.
Please try not to worry beofore you see the GP (I know thats easy for me to say) but stressing will make you even worse.
My door is open if you wish to offload. I'm around at this sort of time and then pop in again of an evening to see if anyone has posted.

I’m sorry you are so worried but none of us can know what it’s about. It might well be signs of a lingering infection, like you fear it could be something more concerning.

Receptionists can not realistically be expected to give medical news to patients beyond normal” and “see the dr”. Can you imagine the inappropriateness and even more worry caused of them delivering bad or worrying results without medical knowledge and being able to explain them. It is however incredibly frustrating when you have to wait. I’ve been there, including waiting on suspicious path lab results. (Which turned out ok).

Any reason you can’t even call for an appointment before Thursday? Are telephone or QDr appointments an option at your surgery?

Fingers crossed you both find out soon and it’s not too big a problem. Worry now isn’t actually going to change what you will be told later and it may all be for nowt. Far easier said than done I know but try and hold on to that.

more worry am afraid...seeing as the family has history of Lung cancer...until been to see respiratory specialist i have no idea

sorry that it's a worry. You do know you have friends here you can talk with? someone always around to chat.

Feel free to PM me if you want to chat about anything. I lost my mother to lung cancer so know how worrying all this can be.

Lost my father many years ago to lung cancer and my brothe rlast year ...my mother i got hers caught in time and had her to the specialist who operated and removed the cancer she is now 93 years old and going strong , I look afte rher and am hoping i do nto get the dreaded C...

Still not heard about a specialist appointment , maybe should give them a quick jolt after all it is me worrying not them grrrrr

I rang the every next morning to see my own Doctor who got his dictaphone out and made a referal for me there and then, he said the appointment should be through within next two weeks so fingers crossed...he knows i was a Nurse as used to visit the Nursing Home where i worked and he actually loaned me his medical books to do a return to nursing course for the NHS...

Blood tests tomorrow and appointment next Monday at specialists so all happening ....fingers crossed now all is well
