Some years ago I was prescribed Rimonabant for weight loss. At the same time I was on Metformin and another oral tablet that I later discovered was weight positive, so I didn't lose weight, but my blood sugars came down to 6.1 from the high 9s, which I counted as a win. However, Rimonabant was apparently associated with depression and a couple of suicides, so they took it off the market. (I never had a problem with it.) Does anyone know how Rimonabant worked and whether the mechanics of it are related to oral semaglutides?

The Wikipedia article makes pretty grim reading, and describes the mode of action.
Wikipedia on Rimonabant
No immediate sign of any commonality with oral semaglutides.

Please note that I am just reading Wikipedia - this is not medical advice of any sort.

Thanks. It seems I was lucky. I had no side effects whatsoever, either physical or mental. Just lower blood sugars.
