Thank you I will.@Norfolkmell That story is becoming all too familiar especially post Covid where we went 18 months avoiding the GPs.
I'm concerned about your increasing A1c although you're clearly lowering carbs.
If I had your 8 mins I'd ask for a C-Peptide test just to make sure that you're still producing adequate insulin.
This morning actual got a 9.8 before breakfast. Breakfast 3g mug bread toasted with butter and squashed berries on top. 18.3 two hours after nothing inbetween except lemon and lime flavoured water.@Norfolkmell So sad to hear this. The worry, pain and lack of sleep are probably making your BG readings higher than they would have been.
Do you test before and after meals? If so have you post prandial rises increased, or is it just that your morning fasting BG numbers are higher and th=us pushing all the other ones up?
That seems more like a reduced production of insulin rather than insulin resistance to me.This morning actual got a 9.8 before breakfast. Breakfast 3g mug bread toasted with butter and squashed berries on top. 18.3 two hours after nothing inbetween except lemon and lime flavoured water.
Unfortunately, c-peptide tests aren't done by GP's or interpreted by them. You need a referral to a specialist and high blood sugars don't qualify for a referral as type 2's can also have issues with high blood sugars. However, weight loss may which is mentioned in your information and type 1's in your family and you've been diagnosed in the last 5 years are all worth mentioningng. I hope you get the medical support you need soon.@Norfolkmell That story is becoming all too familiar especially post Covid where we went 18 months avoiding the GPs.

With all the diabetes running in your family according to your profile, both T1 and T2, has anyone ever looked into MODY diabetes for any of your family members?Have never seen specialist for my diabetes but have them for everything else, that might be one of the things she said that I missed I will check when I see her again, thank you.
I’m the only one left now, but we knew that we had the BRCA gene plus another very rare one that both my parents had which resulted in my brother being seriously disabled so I wouldn’t be surprised if we all had something else! I will ask about it next time I see her. With all the diabetes running in your family according to your profile, both T1 and T2, has anyone ever looked into MODY diabetes for any of your family members?
It's a genetic form of diabetes and it's often misdiagnosed as both T1 and T2.
